Link Crew

Link Crew is a motivational program for student leaders at GHSS who are given the opportunity to mentor grade 9 students during an orientation day the first day of school in September and throughout the rest of the school year.

Link CrewThe program entails a commitment from each student leader in the form of two training days before the Labour Day weekend and leading groups of grade 9 students in activities and on a school tour after the Orientation Assembly on the first day of school.

This year the Link Crew student leaders will have a special treat when they sit in with the rest of the Bluewater staff at the P.D. session at the Bayshore Complex in Owen Sound to hear one of the Kielburger brothers speak about global citizenship and what every individual can do to make the world a better place. This special opportunity happens during the morning on September 2nd when the Link Leaders will be bussed to Owen Sound and is followed by more training back at GHSS in the afternoon.

The Link Crew student leaders are demonstrating great GHSS citizenship already by committing themselves to the Link Crew initiative in order to help the new students arriving at our school for the first time to become comfortable with their new surroundings and to ease the transition from elementary to secondary school.

In addition to the invaluable assistance the Link Crew leaders are providing to grade 9 students, they are developing and enhancing skills which will serve them well in their future lives and endeavours!
